Copyediting occurs after all major structural changes have been made—but before the manuscript or document is designed. During this stage, I focus on things like grammar, mechanics, sentence structure, and stylistic consistency while keeping an eye out for problems with sensitivity and verisimilitude. Copyedits vary from light to heavy; a heavy copyedit may involve some rewriting of passages or reordering of paragraphs. Manuscripts often need multiple rounds of copyediting.
